Fun Facts

Sorrel comes from the French word sur, meaning “sour”. It is considered an “herb-vegetable”, as it stands up to cooking similarly to other vegetables. Throughout history, Red Veined Sorrel has been used as a medicine as much as it has for culinary purposes. Famous for its detoxifying properties, Native Americans have utilized it for centuries as an antidote for poison.
